Objectives of course:
To develop the student’s ability in oral and written expression, comprehension and
grammar usage. Improvement in reading skills. At the end of this course, students
must write the MELS French second language exam in order to get their high
school leaving.
General content of course:
Listening comprehension
Comprehension of texts (Short stories, newspapers, magazines, websites, films, etc.)
Group discussions and debates
Refine grammar and vocabulary
Variety of writings (Textes informatif, expressif, incitatif, descriptifs, narratifs et argumentatifs.)
Materials:
Student workbook: Cargo 5
Readings: variety of texts taken from different sources.
Each student is encouraged to have a French dictionary and a conjugation index
Methods of evaluation:
Reads: 30%
Writes: 30%
Communicates: 40%
